The Cape Hip & Knee Practice, situated at Vincent Pallotti Hospital in Pinelands, Cape Town, South Africa is the brainchild of experienced Orthopaedic Surgeons Dr's Garth Grobler & Brendan Dower.

The Cape Hip & Knee Practice, as the name suggests, has been established to provide specialist care for the unique conditions associated with hips and knees. The surgical procedure in which the clinic specializes includes:
- Total Hip and Knee Replacements
- Arthroscopy of the Hip and Knee
- Uni-Compartmental Knee Replacements

This website aims to:

1) Provide further information on Total Hip (THR) and Total Knee (TKR) replacements as well the Hip and Knee Arthroscopy, and the Uni-Compartmental Knee replacement in the form of brief descriptions accompanied by more detailed downloads. This is to enable you to make a more informed decision about any proposed hip or knee surgery.

A dedicated Orthopaedic Centre has been built at the Vincent Pallotti Hospital, Cape Town. The Carole and Christopher Charitable Trust will be holding a Charity Joint Replacement Walk on Sunday 4 March 2012 The Carole and Christopher Charitable Trust will be holding a at Green Point Urban Park. The Walk is to raise funds to provide Joint Replacement surgery for those who desperately need, but cannot afford such surgery and hence allow them to regain full and productive lives.

All joint replacement patients, their families and friends and anyone who would like to contribute to this worthy cause are invited to participate.

The Trust was started by Christopher and Carole Lavery with the aim assist patients who required joint replacement surgery but were on 6 year waiting lists at government hospitals. The Trust is a registered non-profit organisation.

There is an entry fee of R100 per person for the walk but as this is a fund raising event please feel free to donate more than the entry fee. Donation tax certificates can be issued on request.

The fellowship programme at the Cape Hip and Knee Practice is now in its third year. Dr Mark Nortje is the incumbent fellow. This is an internationally funded programme enabling a fellow to work exclusively in our practice for a period of one year in order to hone his / her skills in advanced hip and knee surgery.
